Urban Gleaners partners with MSANA every Saturday

Urban Gleaners was founded in 2006 because of the simple observation that there were hungry people in the Portland community who could be fed with good, edible food that was being thrown away every day in our city.

Urban Gleaners takes food that is past the sell date from restaurants, cafeterias, and grocers and distributes it back into the community.  Mt. Scott-Arleta Neighborhood Association is collaborating with the Mt. Scott Community Center to distribute food every Saturday from 1pm-3pm.  The Urban Gleaners program requires two or more people to setup and help answer questions.  Each week I coordinate volunteers to fill these roles.  It is food for the community by the community.  All are welcome!
