Ever strolled or cruised through the intersection of SE 72nd & Woodstock Boulevard? Noticed that plaza and wondered why the street exists that way? The Arleta Triangle Square is a relic of the street car to Lents. The intersection at 72nd and Woodstock did not come until the street grid was built out many years later. That resulted in the Arleta Triangle piece of land with trees, plants, and a decorative wall, complete with a canopy. Until 2005, the land went underutilized and presented a challenge for anyone rolling, walking, or biking to ammenities at the community center or Foster Road our neighborhood main street.
Ever pondered, “Who takes care of this unique space?”
Well, the answer might surprise you. It’s you. This is our shared space, our community center. And now, more than ever, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and make it a space for everyone in the community.
Let’s come together, build connections, and ensure that the Arteta Triangle Square remains a landmark we’re proud of and active in maintaining. See you there!
